Department of Political Science
After successful completion of three year degree program in BA (Political Science) a student should be able to;
Program Outcome
PO-1. Demonstrate an understanding of fundamental political processes, institutions, actors, behavior, and ideas; and familiarity with major theories, methods, and concepts of Political Science.
PO-2. Understand the world, their country, their society, as well as themselves and have awareness of ethical problems, social rights, values and responsibility to the self and to others.
PO-3.  Understanding of government institutions, electoral processes, and policies in a variety of countries around the world and the ability to compare the effectiveness or impact of various political arrangements across countries.
PO-4. Develop the ability to make logical inferences about social and political issues on the basis of comparative and historical knowledge.
Program Specific Outcome
PSO 1: Acquaint with the basic concepts, principles and dynamics of public administration
PSO 2: Familiarise with important theories and issues of international relations.
PSO 3: Sensitise with the sensitive peripheral state of India with special reference to Northeast India.
PSO 4: Understand the basic concept and ideological orientations of political science discipline.
PSO 5: An understanding the evolution, development and trends of India’s foreign policy.
PSO 6: Understand the basic concept and issues concerning human rights and challenges.
PSO 7: Familiarise with the problems and prospects of rural development of India
PSO 8: Understand the cultural, social, political, economic and constitutional environment as a historical perspective of Indian Administration.
